Kobie Alleyne is a Trinidadian-American musician, steelpan performer, vocalist, composer, arranger, poet, and author whose work blends Caribbean musical traditions with jazz, hip-hop, soul, and spoken word. Born and raised in South Florida to parents who were both born and raised in Trinidad, he carries the island in his blood and its music in his hands. A Presidential Scholar and graduate of the Berklee College of Music, he moves between stages in South Florida and Port of Spain — a pannist, a poet, and a rapper in a single breath.
Three disciplines. One voice. No boundaries.

Over two decades on the instrument. Kobie's relationship with pan is ancestral — forged in fire, tuned by hand, and carried from Trinidad to the world. A Berklee College of Music graduate and three-time Miami Panorama champion, he has arranged for Sticks 'n Tones, performed with the Trinidad All Stars and Karukéra Steelband, and collaborated with artists like Etienne Charles and Len “Boogsie” Sharpe. His concerts push the steelpan beyond its traditional borders while keeping its roots intact.

On the page, Kobie finds precision. His poetry is rooted in the oral traditions of the Caribbean — calypso's storytelling, the yard-talk of Trinidadian speech, the measured silence of the essay form. His debut collection, Deep Water, gathers these voices into a body of work that reads as beautifully as it sounds — a poet-author who bridges spoken word and literary craft without explaining either.

The microphone is where discipline meets instinct. Kobie's rap and vocal performance carry the syncopation of soca, the weight of conscious lyricism, and the unflinching honesty of a writer who has spent years sharpening every syllable. Each verse is a small architecture — built to land, built to last — and a natural extension of the storyteller he is on the pan and the page.

An intimate evening of steelpan, spoken word, and song. Venue, date, and ticket details to be announced.

A reflective debut collection about healing, growth, love, faith, pain, and becoming. Through themes of the ocean, tides, storms, and still waters, Kobie Alleyne explores what it means to lose yourself, rebuild, and rise stronger.
Divided into five chapters — Low Tide, Rising Tide, High Tide, Storm Surge, and Open Water — the book takes readers through grief, self-discovery, resilience, purpose, and peace. Written for anyone learning to let go, trust God, and embrace who they are becoming, Deep Water is a journey of survival, reflection, and transformation.
"Because sometimes, before you rise,
you must survive the tide."
